IHMA Congress, Malta : "A Success on All Fronts"

"An event that has brought the maritime world closer together" is how the Maltese Minister for Maritime Affairs, Hon. Censu Galea, summed up the 5th IHMA Congress, as the doors closed on the five-day event in April.

"The themes of Safety, Security and the Environment are of significant interest to all who manage, maintain and regulate ports around the world, and by bringing the latest developments to our attention, the IHMA has served a vital service. We are proud that Malta Maritime Authority is involved in an event that has been such a success on all fronts."  The Minister¹s words reflected the general consensus of all participants that the Congress had proved to be a particularly informative, convivial and professionally worthwhile experience.

Record numbers of delegates and partners ensured that the event took on a new scale, while the restructured programme had proved a winner with attendees wishing to make the most of their Congress time.

The associated trade exhibition, expanded to a size that established the event in its own right, also proved particularly rewarding for exhibitors who presented a vast array of equipment and services for the port and harbour sector. Back to maritime index
